Rachael Marshall began racing in 1985, at just 5 years of age. By age 10, she would win her first Australian Title. The year was 1989, and the World Championships would come to Australian Shores for the very first time. In front of a massive home crowd in Brisbane, Rachael would win the first of what would become and amazing 5 World Titles.

From this point on, she would dominate BMX in her age class. Throughout the following decade, She would go on to win 5 more Australian #1 titles including the Elite Women's crown in 1997. In 1994 she would win her second world title in the USA as a 15 year old, and followed this up in 1995 becoming the World Champion again as a 16 year old in Colombia.

In 1997 at the World Championships in Canada, Rachael would become the Junior Womens World Champion. That same year, She would also take out the UCI World Cup Championship. In 1998, once again in front of her home crowd in Melbourne, Rachael would become the Elite Women's World Champion, making her the first person in history to win both Junior Elite and Elite titles in consecutive years. To top off a fantastic year, Rachael would also once again be crowned UCI World Cup Champion and be named the Compaq Female Cyclist of the Year..

Throughout her career, Rachael would regularly appear in magazines and on television promoting the sport she loved. She was without a doubt, one of the most successful female BMX racers Australia has ever produced.
