Dean Crisp began racing in 1977, right at the beginning of BMX racing in Australia. He was just 11 years old, but along with his brothers Darren and Adam, they quickly took to the sport and were soon being snapped up by iconic Australian Sponsors. Colin Spencer of Sunshine BMX was The first sponsor to sign Dean. After winning the 15 class at the very first Australian Titles in 1980, Dean was picked up by international BMX powerhouse Mongoose. Dean would ride for this global super-team until 1984, but along the way, the CRISP BROS brand was beginning to unfold. It started with number plates, then race clothing before moving into frame manufacturing.

The first CRISP bikes were produced by local QLD frame builder Graeme Stevens, and By the end of 1984 the CRISP brand was on show for the world to see. The team, spearheaded by Dean who was fast becoming one of the toughest PRO racers in the country, saw him tour the USA before returning home to win the Superclass at the 1985 National Championships in Tasmania.

The CRISP team continued to evolve, and included some of the best racers in Australia. In 1989 at the World Championships held in Brisbane, the CRISP racing Team would win 5 World #1 plates to be awarded the Best Manufacturers Team in the World Trophy.

In the 1990's the CRISP BROS brand was sold on and has been revived in recent years. The retro inspired CRISP designs now making a strong comeback showcase this ICONIC brand to a new generation of Australian Riders, ensuring that CRISP BROS RACING is firmly entrenched in Australian BMX History.

In 2022, the Crisp brand celebrates its 40th Anniversary, so it is fitting that we welcome Hall Of Fame Inductee - Dean Crisp.
